Journey’s Beginning

I would have never thought that last year would be the year where a lot would change for me. The start of leading the youth, and the opportunity to be a part of the worship. And this is what God does; He works in the most unexpected of things!

I would have never thought that I would lead the youth that soon, or even leading worship. I always had that mindset to be a follower, rather than being a leader.

This past year has really put me outside my comfort zone to serve the Lord. I never had the courage to lead and I was nervous in teaching - sharing the message to the kids was never my cup of tea. I thought I was going crazy and never wanted to do it again after that. What kept me going however, was the support from brothers and sisters in Christ and that encouraged me. The love that they have shown me is special. I thank God that he has continually blessed me with the people that he has placed in my life, encouraging me to move forward even when I wanted to give up.

As I was leading more often, sharing the message, as well as learning on the way, God has really changed who I am. It's something that I haven’t come across but from where I was, to where I am now, I thank the Lord for this journey.

With this, I would also like to share a Bible verse, Isaiah 55:8-9: 'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'

Through the things that you have never imagined yourself doing or something that you might feel uncomfortable in doing, whether that is preaching, leading etc., God will use you as an opportunity to share the Word. I pray that you too can be encouraged and to continue to trust in Him!
